Project Manager for Large Scale Web Applications

Specialization:

• Large scale web apps, Web 2.0, Social Networks, Mobile apps

Education and Work experience:

• Any of : B-Tech, B.Sc (in Computer Science or Computer Engineering), BCA
  Post-Graduation M-Tech/ MCA / PGDCA (Computers , Information Technology )
• 1 year Project Mgmt Experience : Must have at least 1 year experience working through the design, development, and release cycle delivering web software to market.
• 2 year programming experience : At least two years of experience in web programming using php, rails, OOOPs concept, scripts, html.

Basic Requirements and Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of project management methodology - PMBOK guidelines and SCRUM framework.
• Understanding of Software Requirement Specifications /High Level Design/Low Level Design.
• Experience in complete SDLC from functional & technical specifications , documentation , QA processes , source control , maintenance and deployments
• Experience with Solution Architecture and Design, Data structures, algorithms.
• Willingness to work on different set of technologies as and when required.
• Experience on Support / Testing QA, App Testing.
• Responsible for understanding of the entire code base, architectural considerations, design and design decisions related to the project/product.
• Expert knowledge of Coding best practices -- Can check if coding is logical and optimized for understanding and performance. Can determine if the code you're looking at is "good" or "bad" - in terms of layout and optimization.
• Experience with motivating, leading, guiding development teams to completion - Team Management skills.
• Ability to plan project deliveries and manage small teams.
• Ensure that teams have appropriate product and technical specifications , direction , and resources to deliver products effectively by establishing realistic estimates for timelines while ensuring that projects remain on target to meet deadlines.
• Track and report the status of projects
• Ensure project scope is adequately defined, account for scope creeps
• Conduct meetings with developers, resolve roadblocks, resource allocation
• Manage and track alerts, notifications, to do's.

Technical Skills Required:

• Technologies like PHP, MySQL, CakePHP, Wordpress, Drupal, Joomla, Rails, Ruby, AJAX, JQuery.
• SQL Databases , RDBMS.
• Web logic Application Server, Oops concepts, MVC architecture.
• Mobile development on iPhone and Android.
• Development of FB applications.
• Familiarity with lamp stack.
• Must have used, worked with open source, plugins.
• Knowledge of web Authentication & Authorization. Transfer protocols and formats like rest, json etc.

Preferred Technical Skills (good to have , however not mandatory)

• Hands on experience with rich web front end development, CSS, HTML, javascript, XML, HTML 5, FLEX 4, Action Script 3.
• Content/learning management systems: Drupal/ Joomla and Moodle/ Ilias.
• Keen interest in Cloud based application development, server deployment & management.
• SSL know How, Unit Testing - Junit, BDD tests.
• Understanding of various web frameworks like CodeIgnitor, Zend, SOAP , Rails.
• Exposure to UNIX / LINUX environment

Web Evangelist

Job Purpose/Overview:

• Takes lead on web strategy initiatives for building socially aggregated, distributed, heavy-traffic platforms. Looking for a web 2.0 enthusiast who has expert knowledge of client side web technologies, browsers and is in sync with latest and greatest from the world of W3C and WWW.

Education & Work Ex:

• 2-3 yrs of work experience.
• Project Mgmt. experience of leading web projects to completion.

Technical Skills required:

• Efficient and Effective in Web 2.0 and web 3.0 skills.
• Aware and fully conversant with Social networks, social media, Social aggregation and other social web building paradigms - Fb, Google +, Twitter.
• Proficient with frontend technologies like CSS3, HTML 5.
• Understand and promotes the open web API stack (NEW WEB TECHNOLOGIES).
• Expertise in CMS - Drupal/Joomla, wordpress.
• Knowledge of Social Web API's, Social Indexing.
• Competent with RFC's and web protocols / standards.
• Thorough knowledge of open source frameworks like Jquery, PhoneGap, RhoMobile etc.
• Knowledge of browser quirks, modes - RFC's, browser standards, API?s.
• Knowledge of client side web technologies including coding.
• Proficient with Server side technologies.

• Built themes, extensions and applications for the browsers (e.g. Gecko, webKit etc.).

Roles and Responsibilities

• Program Management, Develop product definitions and product architecture. Help create application specifications for web applications, Website workflows and wireframes.
• Help Design, Develop database-driven, low-latency Web platform for rapid, real-time information sharing.
• Help integrate social elements to make web apps more viral.
• Code Review of CSS, HTML, javascript and ajax code elements. Check for browser compatibility.
• Remain in sync with developments in web technology & implement and integrate them in day to day work.
• Project management and Team Leader - Ensure successful execution of assigned tasks so that projects are delivered on-time, on budget, and within the scope of defined business requirements.
• Web application Testing - UI testing, QA testing, engage users as necessary.
• Blog about our work, developments, latest web technologies.
• Create web demos, html 5 presentations.
• Manage and maintain our website - SEO, SM , CSR , Promote newsletters.
• Incorporate search engine optimization techniques to optimize search engine performance, ensuring content is appropriately titled and tagged.

Optional Roles and Responsibilities:

• Maintain web apps on the cloud(optional)
• Help with web marketing (optional) - Develop and program websites, web banners, email blasts and other online marketing materials.
